People got a kick out of the presence of post-game cuddle times with the LIs. Fans in ME2 were salty that the love interests from ME1 didn't have much of a presence in the game. I mean, I imagine it went something like this: The devs generally wanted to keep up the mystery, so they chose not to do an actual face reveal in ME2.
